Thanks for getting me hooked up with the software and coaching. I can't begin to tell you how stoked I am about this whole process, but I'm still going to try. So please bare with me as I tell you how it affects us!
I'm the guy that wants to believe the best about everybody, and as a result, has been burned many, many times. I won't waste time or effort hating them for deceiving me, but will instead hope that their lives improve to the point they won't have to do those things anymore.
In the meantime, the whole "if it seems to good to be true..." thought comes to mind, so I've become "pseudo-agnostic" about many things. That's, "I don't necessarily believe it, but I'm open to being proven wrong".
Well, there wasn't ever much "wrong" about this. Once a few questions had been answered, I could do the math and... well... let's say I couldn't get my ducks lined up fast enough.
As I sit here, we have 27 years, 11 months left on a 30-yr, 7.25% fixed, INTEREST ONLY mortgage with a 10-yr. balloon. Boiled down, I pay $927.35 per month for the privilege of living here, and I'll pay the bank a total of $111,282.00 before I show that we have one thin dime of equity. And over the entire 30 years, we'll pay $248,962.01. JUST IN INTEREST!!!! And then there's the $154,713.23 in principal payments on top of that for a total of $403,675.24
The purchase price was only $153,500.
That's a house for us, and a house and 2/3 for the bank.
NOT ANY MORE!!!
With the software and coaching in place, we've paid of the small amount of credit card debt off (YEEEE-HAAWWWWW), put a new roof on a badly leaking house, and still have a small amount available as our Emergency Fund (we have savings for that but decided to apply that to the acceleration process).
We will be free and clear (subtle huh?) in a mere 7 years and 1 month, assuming we don't ever get a pay raise, our business never generates a dime of profit, and none of my investments pay off. As total losers that "just manage to keep our jobs", this is the worst case scenario.
So, do I have reason to be totally jazzed?
